Call for poster designers - Untitled Winter show 2007 (Deadline: October 24th)

Wanna design the poster for the next show?

Here's how it works...

Contest: Artists bring posters to a meeting and those who attend the meeting vote for the design they like the most. The chosen poster design will be printed and distributed/hung all over town as well as posted on the internet as the official poster for the show. Artists are welcome and encouraged to design, print & distribute their own posters or promotional items for the show. Untitled will only pay for printing of the chosen design.

What to bring: A printout of your design. It helps to have it printed in the final size but it's not necessary. Just be sure that everyone will be able to see the image and get the idea of how it will be formatted for printing. It also helps to have most or all of the required text and images on the design.

WHEN?
Bring your designs to the regular weekly meeting on October 24th - 7:30pm at Kazu in Cummins Station.
(209 10th avenue south)

Media:
digital, drawing, painting, etc. The design should leave room for important text & images about the event. The final file will need to be ready for printing. Artists may collaborate as well. If you are an artist with an image but no graphic design skills, you will need to hook up with a designer who can format your image for printing and include the necessary information.

Size: Posters can be full color or not, up to 11"x17”. Please keep in mind that we also print small postcard size fliers.

The important text & images to include:

+ SHOW TITLE - CHILL
+ the untitled logo – prominently displayed, undistorted and at least 3 inches long (download here: http://www.untitlednashville.org/pages/logotype.htm )
+ the metro nashville arts commission logo, undistorted and 1-3 inches long (download here: http://www.untitlednashville.org/metroartslogo.JPG )

Untitled Documentary - call for film crew

Untitled wants to document our Spring '08 show. The lead up to the show, the show, the clean up and the things that happen to bring up the lights.

By document, we mean we want to take moving pictures of all these things. We are humbled by the cost of all things related to actual film so we will shoot 'Film Style' on the best HD Digital Video format we can get.

Our goal is to have a very short clip for our website, and a half hour to hour version to pitch to Public Television and Art Channels.

Untitled Artists Group, Nashville, is a non-profit group; therefore, we will not sell or create profit for any individual with this project. It's for us; and people who want to sit and watch us in full motion pixels.

Planning has already started and we want you to be involved - We have a place for you, if you:

  • Have experience with making film and video, all phases, pre- through post production.
  • Have experience with Untitled but have no experience with film beyond the masterful super 8 or VHS work you did in sixth grade.
  • Have no experience with Untitled, or film and video, and can't spell documentary.

We want you.

Untitled wants anyone that wants to be involved because there'll be a lot of work - and it's a hell of a good time. Hard work like digging a ditch is hard work, good time like the laundry mat is a good time compared to digging a ditch.

If you're interested send your name and briefly tell us you're related experience or what you'd like related experience in - here: doc@untitlednashville.org We'll meet to flesh out a team at the regular Untitled meeting, Wednesday, October 17 at 7:30 at Kazu

Sorry, but if you're a pro we can only accept you're donated talents and or gear. We're not begging we're just pre-rejecting your offer to work for a rate. Our budget is less than zero. However, we will give you full rights to any footage you help shoot for your own project or as stock footage.

Whole Foods Market Nashville - Call to Artists

Greetings Artist of Nashville!
This letter is to invite you to add part of your talent to the new Whole Foods Market Nashville, opening November 1 in Green Hills. We are asking several Nashville artists to partake in an art project of painted used guitars that will be exhibited in the café at the new Whole Foods. We are asking that you as an artist find a used- very used guitar at a local shop - I have been around a few shops and found several if you need a few leads on where to find one... (for this you will be reimbursed for to a maximum of $75 so keep your receipt). We are asking for acrylic painted guitars with some theme of Nashville or Tennessee (ie. Skyline, icons of Nashville, the Iris etc) The first ten artists to respond will be chosen and all works of art will need to be turned over to Whole Foods Market by or on October 29th. Your name will appear next to your piece in the café and we will auction them off in a year or so with proceeds going to a local Music Foundation of Whole Foods Market's choice (TBD). Once artists are chosen more detailed information will be sent you. A tax deductable form will be given to participating artists.

We hope you will be interested in this project! Please call me with any questions 512 577 9069. -Julie
