Individual Artist Fellowships Available - TN Arts Commission

Individual Artist Fellowships Available

Individual Artist Fellowships are
available from the Tennessee Arts Commission for Fiscal Year 2012 (July 1,
2011 – June 30, 2012). Application
...must be submitted electronically,
and must be received by Monday, January 24, 2011 by 4:30 p.m. (CST). The
printed application and required documents must also be postmarked or hand
delivered to the Tennessee Arts Commission on that date.



The award provides
fellowships to outstanding artists who live and work in Tennessee.
No matching funds are required and no specific project has to be carried out
with the funds. The Commission
anticipates that each fellowship will be $5,000.



In the coming year,
the Commission may award up to two fellowships in each of the discipline categories.
Categories for the fellowships include: Craft;
Dance (performance and choreography); Literary
Arts (fiction/creative nonfiction and poetry); Media (film, video, and photography); Music (vocal performance and composition); Theater (acting); and Visual
Art (two-dimensional).

Located 5 minutes from Bellevue, and just 20 minutes west of downtown Nashville, our 7000 square ft facility offers a large area dedicated to private artist spaces. We currently have artists working in clay, stained glass, fiber, jewelry, and painting. Our artist spaces start at $135 per month. Saturday, November 13th is the RE-Sale yArt Sale and Dance Party at
Open Lot. This is a big one! We will begin setting up at 8am and open
to the public from 9am-4pm. We are currently searching for vendors. If
you make crafts, Art, or have vintage goods you want to sell.. We
want you to sign up! We are offering vendor spaces indoors for $40
(5'x5' space including artisan wall) and larger spaces outdoors (about
8'x12', the size of a standard parking space). All vendors will be
required to bring their own tables/chairs/props/displays/et cetera and
their own money banks for making change.

The dance party will have a Funk theme and begin at 9pm that night,
after the RE-sale has been broken down.

All RE-sale vendors and volunteers will receive free tickets to the
dance party.

"O"Gallery at 42 Arcade, Downtown Nashville, invites artists to create their own show in the gallery space. Renting all four walls of one room (approx. 30 linear feet total, with 13' ceilings), allows the visual artist to create the show of their choice. Monthly participation in Gallery Crawl brings nearly 1000 people to view your art and make beneficial contacts for the future. A special opening or closing reception can be arranged. Also included at no additional cost: your name will be mentioned as the featured artist in the Gallery marketing campaign AND on the Gallery website. This Artist gets this room for an entire month; one Artist per month.

Paint in the open air just like the Impressionists! This one-day workshop is designed for all skill levels and will utilize oil paints to explore ways of depicting the changing light of outdoors. The RULES are the same as they always are with just a couple changes for GLOW:

-$15 fee pay online with PayPal by October 17. Find the link on our
website.

- One piece per artist. No diptychs, triptychs, or multiples UNLESS
they are physically attached to each other so that they can hang from
one nail and sell as one piece. No exceptions.

- Work is due on Wednesday, October 20, between 6 and 7:30 pm at the
venue. Late work cannot be accepted.

-If you need to change your submitted artwork (or price, or title or
volunteer preferences, name, address, etc.) just return to the survey
before the deadline and enter the new information. You will have to re-
enter all of your information. You may NOT change your information
after October 17. We will take the most recently entered info.

-Untitled is just a bunch of artists making shows happen together.
Please be kind to each other by helping out as much as you can and
meeting every deadline and following every rule. Thank you!
