Washington Printmakers Gallery is pleased to announce Robert K. Newman as the 2011 National Small Works Juror. Mr. Newman is the director of the Old Print Shop, the oldest family-owned gallery operating in the US.

National Small Works is in its 14th year, and is open to artists 18 and over across the nation. Prizes include:

1st Prize-Solo Exhibition, August 2012

2nd Prize-$200 Purchase Award from Graphic Chemical & Ink, Co.

3rd Prize-$150 Gift Certificate from Utrecht Art Supplies

4th Prize-$100 Gift Certificate from Renaissance Graphic Arts, Inc.


Artists may apply online or via CD. Full instructions can be seen on our website or by downloading a prospectus here. Deadlines and applications fees are:


-April 15, 2011-Early Bird Online Deadline: $20 for 4 images, $5 each additional image

May 15, 2011-Regular Online Deadline: $30 for 4 images, $5 each additional images

CD submissions--all CD submissions are $40 for 4 images, $5 each additional image. There is no early bird discount for CD submissions. Final deadline for receipt of CD submissions (NOT a postmark date) is May 15, 2011.

Works must be under 170 in square and created using traditional, hand-pulled printmaking techniques (no digital or photographic processes are eligible). Works must have been created in the past 2 years.
