Also, we are looking for volunteers to do a beading craft activity with children. we would love to have someone engage the children in helping them to make their own piece of beaded jewelry. This activity can last anywhere between 30 minutes to one hour, with as many children attending the activity (filling seats on a rotating basis as other children finish the activity and leave the table) during the allotted time span. The times that are currently available for a jewelry-making activity are from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. or from 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. You'd have your choice of these times to chose from. The materials that you would need to bring with you for this activity include enough beads and other items to possibly create about 50 pieces of jewelry.
The mission of the Brown Center is to deliver an innovative, comprehensive, therapeutic experience to young children impacted by Autism Spectrum Disorders, by providing fully integrated and coordinated services in a truly caring environment.
Event Information
In today’s economy, many families simply cannot afford intensive therapy services for their young child with autism. Also, to date, the majority of insurances still do not provide sufficient coverage for the services these children need to realize their full potential. The BCA Rocks the Block event will be a family-friendly, eight hour street festival held near the heart of downtown Nashville , with live music from a wide variety of genres--including performances by local musicians on the autism spectrum. Additional highlights include a silent auction, activities for families and children, and booths for local concession and product vendors donating a portion of their proceeds to the Brown Center for Autism. Proceeds from this event will be used at The Brown Center to assist families who could not otherwise afford quality programming for their child with autism.
