Arts Council of Williamson County announces “Brown Bag Lunch Bunch” guest speaker, Melanie Jackson.

The Arts Council of Williamson County’s ‘Brown Bag Lunch Bunch’ will meet on September 12, from 11 am – 1 pm at the Williamson County Public Library (main conference room), 1314 Columbia Pike in Franklin.

Melanie Jackson, of Prism Art League, will be speaking about ‘The Art of Teaching’. Melanie is an award-winning artist and is represented in private collections in the U.S. and abroad. The Tennessee State Museum recently purchased two of Jackson's drawings for their private collection. She conducts drawing & painting classes at the Williamson County Parks & RecreationCenter in Franklin, TN, and gives private lessons in her studio. Students of Melanie, currently have work on display at Franklin City Hall.

‘Supplies for Soldiers’ collection continues again this month. Julie Long, an Arts Council member, is collecting supplies for her brother-in-law and troops stationed in Iraq. They will be collecting simple, everyday supplies for the soldiers at the lunch. Supply suggestions can be found on their website.

Grab your lunch and join them for a lunch time of artistic fun and camaraderie. You provide your lunch; they’ll provide the location! The Arts Council’s ‘Brown Bag Lunch Bunch’ meets 2nd Friday of each month.
