Pop-Up Artist Talk at the Nashville Public Library on Sunday, July 13, 2008

Please join us at the Main library this weekend for a talk by Carol Barton on the history of movable and pop-up books, which will be followed by a reception for "Beyond the Page: Carol Barton’s Art and Influence," opening in the Fine Art Gallery at the Main Library. July
13 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. at Main Library, 615 Church St., 862-5800.

Carol Barton is a book artist, teacher and curator who runs Popular Kinetics Press. She has published numerous artist book editions, and her work is exhibited internationally and held in numerous collections including the Smithsonian Institution, Library of Congress, Museum of Modern Art, The Getty Museum, and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. "Beyond the Page" is an exhibit of Carol Barton’s beautiful books and books by local artists who have studied with her. July 13- August 30 in the Fine Art Gallery at Main Library, 615 Church St., 862-5800 (hours: M-Tr, 9-8, F 9-6, Sat. 9-5, Sun. 2-5).
