Call for Artists - MHCF juried benefit - Oct 13, 2011 at Houstin Station

Call for Artists

Mental Health Cooperative Foundation invites artists to submit original artwork to MHCF’s Unmasking Mental Illness Art Benefit taking place Thursday, October 13 at Houston Station in Nashville. This juried event is open to emerging and established artists aged 18 and up. Artists may enter up to 10 works for consideration. Preference will be given to Tennessee artists.

Mental Health Cooperative Foundation presents a special evening with internationally-renowned and emerging artists showcasing their work in a gallery-style setting at former warehouse Houston Station, now a study in urban chic. Artists participating in the live auction include Kaaren Engel, Paul Harmon, Alan LeQuire, Myles McIntyre Maillie, Trevor Mikula, and Stacey Pierce-Nickle. Benefit patrons are invited to also enjoy a silent auction, Hors d’oerves prepared by local celebrity chef Jeremy Barlow, an artisan marketplace, open bar, and free valet.

Entry deadline is August 18, 2011
Late entries will be accepted through August 22, 2011

Artist selections will be announced by e-mail August 25, 2011

Artists will notify MHCF of their intent to participate by August 29, 2011

Participating artists will be posted on the event website (www.unmaskingartbenefit.org) on August 30, 2011

All selected artists will be featured on the event website and social media (Facebook and Twitter). Additionally, each week MHCF will send an email featuring three artists from the event.
