Meet critic/curator Kevin McGarry in Nashville: Th, June 3 @ NCAP

Nashville Cultural Arts Project is proud to introduce our new lecture series Insight? Outta Site!
http://www.n-cap.org/index.html

7pm, Thursday, June 3rd, NCAP welcomes Brooklyn-based writer and curator

Kevin McGarry to the Neuhoff Building in Germantown for the first of a series of participatory potluck forums designed to ignite creativity and thoughtful discussion about contemporary art and social engagement.

While McGarry will be discussing his ideas about art and writing, he's not here to give a traditional talk -- rather he wants to directly engage with you and answer your questions on the subject. Please bring a dish/drink/question/thought to share!

Insight? Outta Site! takes place in the Neuhoff building, located at 1315 Adams Street, 37208. The forum is free, but seating is limited, so please RSVP by June 1.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Kevin McGarry is a writer and curator based in Brooklyn, NY.
He has contributed to
Rhizome, New York Times T' Magazine, and the online editions of Art in America, Artforum, Art 21, Bidoun and Interview Magazine.

McGarry is co-director and programer of Migrating Forms, a festival of new and experimental film and video held at Anthology Film Archives.

While McGarry is in Nashville he will be visiting Seed Space, to write about Alicia Beach's show, Senarios of Control. Please stop by to see the exhibit, which runs June 2 - July 17.

Playing on the success of NCAP's Outta Site! series, which brought internationally prominent artists, architects, and urban planners to Nashville, Insight? Outta Site!
redefines the traditional lecture model. Rather than bring in speakers to simply give a speech and leave, Insight? Outta Site! facilitates interaction between invited speakers and the local community. In September we welcome Sylvie Fortin, Editor-in-Chief of
Art Papers, for the next Insight? Outta Site! forum.
