Eric L Hansen speaks at Williamson County Public Library
Art & Social Media, June 11
FRANKLIN, Tenn., May 26, 2010 --The Arts Council of Williamson County’s ‘Brown Bag Lunch Bunch’ guest speaker for June is Eric L Hansen, Photographic Artist. The Lunch Bunch will meet on Friday, June 11, from 11 am – 1 pm at the Williamson County Public Library (main conference room), 1314 Columbia Pike in Franklin.
Eric’s colour images are deeply personal storyboards of his own connection to contemporary American culture. He began making photographs at the age of 12, and while he later studied drawing and painting, photography remains his enduring passion. He earned a BFA degree at Newark College of the Arts in creative writing and theatre: the art of telling a story with actors, colour, light, shadow and space.

In the last ten years, his work has appeared in more than thirty group shows and solo exhibitions, where he has won numerous awards. His private collectors include the actress Drew Barrymore; and film and radio producer Margaret Koval. Some of his work was recently purchased by the LaGrange Museum of Art for their permanent collection.

Museum directors who have curated his work include: Curator of Photography at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Malcolm Daniel, Director of the Museum of Photographic Art Carol McCusker, Director of Chicago's Museum of Contemporary Art Robert Fitzpatrick, and Director of the Smithsonian Museum of American Art Joann Moser.

Eric is the founder of the Eric L Hansen Photo Workshops, presently in early startup. Facilities are located in Cool Springs. You can learn more about Eric, his work, and the workshops, at www.ericlhansen.com.

Grab your lunch and join the Art’s Council for a lunch time of artistic fun and camaraderie. Guests are invited to bring a piece of their own artwork to share with the group. The Arts Council’s ‘Brown Bag Lunch Bunch’ meets 2nd Friday of most months. For more information, visit www.artscouncilwc.org, or call 428-3845.
