Transit Now Nashville - Video Competition - Deadline: Nov 7, 2009

Transit Now Nashville (transitnownashville.org)is seeking submissions for on-line videos that seek to persuade and motivate people to ride and/or to support mass transit in Nashville. The winning video and runner ups will be screened at TNN’s Red Carpet event in mid-November 2009. In addition, videos will be used to by Transit Now Nashville to continue to promote mass transit in Nashville.

First prize is $500. A People’s Choice Award of $250 will be awarded to video with most votes on YouTube. All videos will be submitted via YouTube starting two-weeks prior to the deadline. Contest starts September 3, 2009 and will end November 7, 2009.

Contest Rules and Requirements

Video length: 1 to 3 minutes.

Audience: General audience

Deadline for Submission: All videos will be uploaded to Transit Now Nashville’s Youtube Group via Youtube within 2 weeks of deadline. Deadline is 6:00pm Central Standard Time on November 7, 2009. All entries submitted after this time will not be considered.

Prizes:

People’s Choice Award-$250

Awarding of Prizes: TBA (Transit Now Nashville Red Carpet Event Mid-November)

Registration: To enter you must submit your name or group name, name of all author’s of the video, youtube username you will be submitting under, address, email address, and phone number to admin@transitnownashville.org by November 7th. Notification of changes will be posted on our blog, but also will be provided via email, so it is important to register early.

Indemnification: By submitting an entry to the contest, you certify that no other person owns any portion of the content of your video. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Transit Now Nashville, if it faces any claims, liability, demands, or penalties of the content your submitted work. In addition, entry to the contest certifies that your video is original and does not infringe on copyright laws.

By submitting an entry, you agree to release, discharge, and hold harmless Transit Now Nashville against all claims related to the contest or future uses of the winning work that you may have. Transit Now Nashville will do their best to run the contest in a fair and efficient manner, but they assume no responsibility for any direct or indirect losses or consequences you may incur in participating in this contest. Transit Now Nashville reserves the right to modify the competition rules at any time and the decision to not issue award. By uploading your submission, you agree that it conforms to these rules. Transit Now Nashville reserves the right to remove any submission and disqualify an entry from the Contest, in its sole discretion.

Use of Videos: By submitting an entry, you understand that the contest winner must permit Transit Now Nashville to broadcast and publish the winning work in any manner that it sees fit. For example, Transit Now Nashville may decide to use the video in another campaign or project. You understand that the winner will not receive any compensation beyond the prize money for these future uses. Also, you agree that Transit Now Nashville may edit out parts of the winning work and/or reassemble, prior to publication.

Eligibility: All board members and the immediate family members of, and any persons domiciled with, any such board member are not eligible to enter or to win. The term “immediate family members” includes spouses, parents, grandparents, siblings, children, and grandchildren.

Criteria: Videos will judged on originality, quality, and effectiveness of getting the intended message across.

Disqualification. By uploading your submission, you agree that it conforms to these rules and requirements. Transit Now Nashville reserves the right to remove any submission and disqualify an entry from the Contest, at its sole discretion. Examples of content that would be disqualified include use of profanity, drug use, reference to drug use, nudity, disparage individuals or groups, and/or does not meet the intent of the contest as described within the rules and requirements. All content must also meet YouTube's terms and conditions.

Use of Local Transit Services: The production of videos shall not disrupt the service of local transit services or infringe on the rights of the users of the system. Videos shall not include any video sequences taken within transit vehicles.
