Dawn Whitelaw divides her painting time between painting commissioned portraits and works in oil for galleries. A long history of teaching includes over thirty years teaching painting on the university level. Her awards include a Certificate of Merit for her portrait at the National Portrait Convention in 1991, Best of Show at the Portrait Society of America's International Competition in 2001 and Award of Excellence in the Regional Oil Painters of America Exhibition in 2002. 43rd Annual Central South Art Exhibition National at the Tennessee Art League Deadline: March 7

This competition is open to artists both professional and amateur who are members of the Tennessee Art League and/or a resident of the United States, and who are 18 years of age or older. All works of art selected by the juror will be on display at the Tennessee Art League from May 1 - June 27. The Best of Show Award will be $1,500.
