Call to Artists: DAA is seeking artists to include in our "Fine Artist Catalogue"

Davis Art Advisory is seeking artists to include in our "Fine Artist
Catalogue" and online database, which will be used by local and
national interior designers and architects for their projects. This
will be updated every 3 months. The goal is to present reasonably
affordable fine art options for designers in an effort to elevate
their design.

* We will not be representing artists in this regard. As art
consultants/dealers, we want to know about you to include your work in
our catalogue/ files to share with professionals as options for their
projects. We generally implement a standard 50/50% agreement on sales
when working directly with artists to sell at retail/ market value.

Artists must include the following images and information to be
included:

• CONTACT INFORMATION (We will contact you regarding inquiries or
sales)

• IMAGES categorized into folders:
* Please ONLY submit works that FIT into the following parameters:

Folder 1: $500 or under (small to medium scale preferred) (5
images)
Folder 2: $1000 or under (medium to large scale preferred) (5
images)
Folder 3: $3000 or under (large scale preferred) (5 images)

* JPEGS, 72 dpi, around 5"x7"
* Please include your last name, title (abbreviations OK) and
dimensions in the name of each jpeg. Example: "smith passing clouds
40x60"

• Include a Corresponding Checklist with the following: (Please use
Word, Text Edit or similar)
Name
Title
Year
Medium
Dimensions
Prices (include paper vs. stretched canvas print prices if applicable)

NOTE: Notate if any of your art is reflective of Nashville's
buildings, landscape or community.
NOTE: The demand is for large images under $800.
NOTE: Signed, limited edition prints of large paintings are OK,
especially if printed on canvas.

NAAD presents Art After Hours June 4, 2009 5-7pm

The Nashville Association of Art Dealers (NAAD) presents a new opprotunity for art lovers and patrons to explore Nashville’s diverse and growing art scene. "Art After Hours" - Nashville’s first monthly, city-wide art crawl - seeks to elevate awareness and support for the visual arts in Nashville. On the first Thursday of each month participating galleries will remain open late from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, inviting the public to come and enjoy art after work.

Nearly 20 members of NAAD have already committed to the first "Art After Hours" on June 4th and others are expected to join the effort by the event’s launch. Participating galleries include: Bennett Galleries, Cumberland Gallery, Estel Gallery, Finer Things Gallery, Frist Center for the Visual Arts, Gallery One, HA Gallery at Hanging Around, LeQuire Gallery, Local Color Gallery, Midtown Gallery, Richland Fine Art, Rymer Gallery, The Arts Company, Tinney Contemporary and Zeitgeist Gallery. NAAD is a membership organization of respected and established art dealers from throughout Nashville. Its 36 members and associate members are dedicated to promoting and maintaining the highest degree of professionalism in business conduct, and collectively aim to increase support for the visual arts in Nashville.

Interested in participatig in the First Saturday Gallery Crawl?

If you've ever wanted to participate in the First Saturday Gallery Crawl, but didn't want to commit to a long-term lease or all the extra overhead, i.e. insurance, marketing, advertising, etc., this is your opportunity!

Twist 58

Twist Art Gallery is expanding! We have opened a new space at the Arcade. This space is a cross between artist studio and exhibit space. We are renting out two rooms that can be used as a studio and/or exhibit space. Benefits included with the rent will be:

-Inclusion in Twist PR & marketing efforts (press releases, e-news blasts, postcards, etc.)
-Inclusion in broader Downtown Arts Destination Alliance (DADA) marketing efforts (currently working with the Nashville Convention and Visitor's Bureau and other downtown entities)
-Free wireless internet
-Participation in First Saturday Gallery Crawl (literally hundreds of people each month)
-Water/Utilities/AC and Heat included
-Web page within Twist's web site
-Credit Card Processing


The studio/exhibit room is 15 x 11 and has windows, natural light, separate AC/heat units and hardwood floors. It rents for $275 per month. (This space has rented.)

The front gallery space is approximately 23 x 15 and has windows across the front facing out into the Arcade. It rents for $275 per month. (Available)

Group shows with 2 people: only $137.50 per person
Group shows with 3 people: only $92 per person
Group shows with 5 people: only $55 per person
Group shows with 10 people: only $27.50 per person

Or use it as a studio.

We will accept short-term leases (one month up to one year).

We require you to be on-site or have a representative on-site during all First Saturday Crawls and at least one to two days during the week from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. We will retain a 30% commission on all work sold out of the space.

Downtown Presbyterian Church invites artists to show for one night at the November Art-Luck.

bring your work Saturday after 12 and pick a spot to set up for the night. church members bring the potluck dinner and everyone eats and sees your work as part of the first Saturday art crawl. work is taken down after 9pm that night. our only request is that the art is appropriate for our children as well.
