Open Studio with Alan LeQuire
This relaxed studio session focuses on sculpting, but students are welcome to paint or draw. A model changes poses every third week. Alan will provide clay for those sculpting and even fire pieces for students free of charge. Those who choose to paint or draw should bring their own supplies. The model holds one pose for two sessions which gives you 6 hours to draw, paint, or sculpt.

The series is open to the public and there is no charge to attend.

A Life in Art - Talk and Slideshow with Alan LeQuire

Join us this Saturday, March 21, at 10:30 AM, when Nashville artist Alan LeQuire, best known for his monumental Athena Parthenos, the largest indoor statue in the Western world, presents a slideshow and talk about his artistic development as a nationally renowned sculptor at this special event inspired by the current exhibit, Cultural Heroes, in the Art Gallery at Main Library. Light refreshments will be served.

Paint and draw the figure using charcoal, pastel and oil. Renowned portrait artist, Murat Kaboulov will teach using a different medium each Saturday.

Murat Kaboulov was born and educated in Russia. He has an M.F.A. from one of the world's leading art schools - I.E. Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (The Academy of Arts), St. Petersburg, Russia - where he studied in the studio of Professor Evsey Moiseyenko. Murat is a member of the Russian Artists Union, the Portrait Society of America and the Tennessee Art League.
