Waynesville Public Art Commission has issued a call to all professional artists, residing in both North Carolina and Tennessee, to create an artistic railing at a Main Street public park to honor the historic connection between the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the Town of Waynesville. Open to all professional artists, or team of artists, over the age of 18, residing in North Carolina or Tennessee, the two states contiguous with Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Four Juried Exhibition Opportunities at Mid-South Sculpture Alliance's Sculpture Conference 2009 Deadline: July 14

Two of the opportunities are Mid-South Sculpture Alliance and Chicago Sculpture International members only; offering two $500 cash awards for the indoor exhibit and a $1,000 honorarium for each work selected for the outdoor exhibit. The other two opportunities are for student level juried exhibitions, offering one $250 award for indoor exhibit and one $250 for outdoor exhibit. Regional Public Art Opportunities

The City of Chattanooga is seeking proposals for the Brainerd Neighborhood Public Art Project in Chattanooga, Tennessee, which will be on view April 2009 - October 2010. Works can be in any media and must be suitable for outdoors. Artworks submitted for consideration should clearly relate to the theme of this exhibition: Community & Diversity. Two works will be selected for installation in a public landscape,and will be leased for a period of eighteen (18) months. Each artist or artist team may propose either one work or two works for consideration.
ELIGIBILITY: All professional artists over the age of 18 who currently reside in the United States.
EXHIBITION DATES: 18 months, April 2009 - October 2010
STIPEND: $4,000 award for 18-month lease period. All of the removal costs and arrangements (equipment rental, labor assistance, etc.) will be the responsibility of the artist.

The City of Ft Myers announces a national call-to-artists requesting RFQs for a site-specific exterior public art project, Marks & Brands, commemorating the historic cattle trail that ran through downtown during the 19th and 20th centuries. Extensive historic documentation is available to the artist that includes information about the prominent ranchers of that period as well as images of their brands and earmarks.
ELIGIBILITY: All professional artists who currently reside in the United States.
BUDGET: $20,000 (covers all costs associated with the project including, but not limited to, materials, fabrication, installation, permitting, documentation and transportation) Up to three finalists will be given an additional $500 design fee to develop a maquette/proposal for final consideration.
