The Water Tower Regional, first held in 1909, is the oldest competitive juried art exhibition in the Southeast and Midwest regions. Hosted by the Louisville Visual Art Association, Kentucky's oldest arts organization, the exhibition will feature artwork from artists in Kentucky and surrounding states.
Four Juried Exhibition Opportunities at Mid-South Sculpture Alliance's Sculpture Conference 2009 Deadline: July 14
Chattanooga, TN
Two of the opportunities are Mid-South Sculpture Alliance and Chicago Sculpture International members only; offering two $500 cash awards for the indoor exhibit and a $1,000 honorarium for each work selected for the outdoor exhibit. The other two opportunities are for student level juried exhibitions, offering one $250 award for indoor exhibit and one $250 for outdoor exhibit. The Dogwood Arts Festival announces a call to artists for the 2009 Regional Fine Arts Exhibit. There are exciting new changes for the 2009 Exhibition. The first change is in the name itself. The call for art will no longer be confined to the Knoxville area only, but will branch out into a 300 mile radius in order to represent a more widespread overview of the most dynamic work in all genres of art, sculpture, and photography in this region. The submission process has also changed. In the past, artists had one day to drop their work off at the gallery location for the jurying process. This method has been updated to the current national standard method of sending jpg images on CD into the Dogwood Arts Festival offices. The prospectus and submission form will be available for download at www.dogwoodarts.com, or artists may request one to be mailed by calling the Dogwood Arts offices at 865-637-4561. This year’s juror is Karlota I. Contreras-Koterbay, Director of Slocumb Galleries at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City. Both a university gallery director and curator, Contreras-Koterbay has organized numerous exhibits both nationally and abroad, and has lectured in the Phillippines, Japan, Brazil, Canada, and the United States. She will be selecting the work to be shown as well as choosing the recipients for 5 awards totaling $4,000.00. The 2009 exhibit will also be housed in an elegant new location at 128 South Gay Street, the site of 2006’s international Body Sacred fundraising exhibit for the Susan G. Komer Breast Cancer Foundation. In addition to the exhibit’s Grand Opening to the public that will occur on April’s First Friday Downtown Gallery Walk, there will be ticketed Dogwood Gala preview party the night before featuring the Regional Fine Arts Exhibition, opportunity to meet many of the artists, lavishly catered food, live music, and a tour of the spectacular three story loft residence. The exhibit will run longer than it has in the past, from April 2-25, and will include artist demonstrations and a fundraising art raffle. The hours of the exhibit will be 10:00 AM- 5:00 PM Wed. – Sat.
Projekt30 JANUARY 2009 EXHIBITION
Projekt30 is taking submissions for our new January 2009 publicly juried exhibition.
We are an artist-run arts organization dedicated to promoting emerging artists. The exhibition will include thirty artists; invitations will be sent to over 30,000 galleries, collectors, and fellow artists. Visitors have the option of contacting any participating artist with feedback or opportunities. Since 2003 over 200,000 messages have been sent to participating artists.
All artwork submitted will be presented online prior to the exhibition so visitors may help select which artists will be included in the exhibition. Unlike other juried exhibitions, all participants receive exposure.

JURIED ARTS FESTIVAL:
This will be a Juried show. The Jurors will select at least the top 5 works from each theme that will be featured on the website (www.fbcartsfestival.org). The Jurors and a representative of the FBC Arts Festival will select four works, one from each passage in the Professional Division, to receive Purchase Awards in the amount of $1000. They will also select four works, one from each passage in the Amateur and Youth Division, to receive Awards in the amount of $250. Certain pieces from the festival will be selected for purchase at the Pre Exhibition Party.
ELIGIBILITY:
The arts festival is open to all artists living within the State of Tennessee who meet the age requirement and present work in the categories listed above. Generally, works will be accepted on paper, canvas, and fabric, as well as photography, stained glass, and sculpture. Crafts including jewelry, kits, copies, or prints will not be accepted. Work accepted into the arts festival must be appropriately framed and ready for wall mounting and must not exceed 48" in any direction. Glazing for works must be Plexiglass only; Sculpture footprint cannot be more than 24" x 36" or weigh more than 50 lbs.
2008 International Juried Spring Invitational Art Show Deadline: April 1

The Art Department of Middle Tennessee State University invites entries for its second 12" x 12" small works, juried exhibition. There are no media restrictions. Works submitted may not exceed 12" in any direction including frame and base, in the case of three-dimensional works. Awards to be made will total no less than $2,100.
