STILL LIFE WORKSHOP
Saturday, July 22nd
9:00- 4:00
Sunday, July 23rd
1:30 - 4:30
All skill levels will be accepted from beginner to advanced levels. Some painting knowledge is helpful but not necessary. You will work at your own skill level and pace. Spaces are limited(minimum seven, maximum nine) so register early. Please e-mail your intent or call me at (615)754-7336 for information on where to mail your registration and a list of supplies. The price of this workshop is $185 and a minimum non-refundable deposit of half is required upon registration to reserve your seat.
You will discover a whole new way of seeing the world around you. Learning to draw what you see rather than what you think you see will open your eyes to a different approach to painting.
During the morning, I will have a short demo on some basic drawing skills, toning a canvas, and placing your subject on canvas. If you are familiar with the drawing on the right side of the brain, you can immediately begin to work on your composition. I will spend more time on the drawing for those that are just beginning. Still life set-ups will be available to paint from. Individual instruction at your easel will be given throughout the day. You are welcome to practice your drawing skills or work in pastels or oils.
A supply list will be sent upon registration for those that have their own supplies. For those who would like to use my supplies, there will be a flat usage fee of $35 in addition to the workshop fee. This will include use of paints, brushes, sprays, palette, and charcoal. I will also have some individual supplies available for purchase if you need them (canvases, tablets, pencils, eraser and paints). Please let me know ahead of time if you will be using my supplies or needing to purchase supplies.
If you attended my garden workshop in June, you will receive a 10% ($18.50) discount off of this
workshop.
