"The Art of Hope" Call to Artists

A CALL TO ARTISTS
Danita's Children is a non-profit organization with
the intent of rescuing and caring for orphaned
children, meeting their needs spiritually, physically,
academically, and emotionally. Founded by
Danita Estrella in January 1999, the organization
began with a small house and fourteen children in
Ouanaminthe, Haiti.

Ouanaminthe is located about 9 hrs north of Port au Prince where the
recent earthquakes destroyed
almost everything. Danita traveled to Port au Prince and with the aid
of local government officials and
the Red Cross, began taking in orphans and transporting them back to
the orphanage in Ouanaminthe.
32 children, many with medical issues ranging from dehydration to loss
of limb, have been returned
to the Center with many more on the way.
Given the recent events and new challenges facing Danita and her
mission, it is imperative to take
action and help her continue to help the children of Haiti.

BASIC DETAILS OF SHOW FOR ARTISTS
Place: The Amber Leaf on the Square in Gallatin, TN
Time: July 17th from 5:00pm to 9:00pm
Here’s how it works: To be selected for “The Art of Hope” show, you
must submit 2 examples of your
CURRENT work to andrew.lee3d@gmail.com. These pieces do NOT have to be
hope inspired, just
work that you are currently doing. We accept photographs, digital
photos through email, a request to
visit your website, or phone calls to make an appointment to show us
your work. Slides are accepted,

If you are selected as an artist: Each artist can submit up to three
pieces of Haiti/Hope inspired artwork
for the show.
Deadline for entries is July 1. All artists chosen to exhibit at “The
Art of Hope” show must be able to
deliver their completed artwork no later than July 10, 2010. (Drop
off location to be determined)
Please make sure that your artwork
is ready to hang
100% of all proceeds will go directly to
Danita
