Winter Workshop 2009
We are offering a one day workshop February 21 with a "weather date" of February 28. It will be at Appalachian Center for Craft in Smithville with a cost of $40 for the whole day per person. Registration is scheduled for 9:00am. First session will begin promptly at 10:00. Lunch will be available for purchase in the cafeteria at noon. Second session will begin promptly at 1:30pm. The workshop should conclude at 3:30. Both sessions are included in the $40. There will be NO discount, free pass or half day charge.
Topics will be:
Craft Fairs 101: A diverse panel of experts will present their ideas about what you need to know to be successful in the craft fair market. They will exchange points of view and then be open to your questions. Bring your questions and note pad. Panel will include: Dale Baucum, long time potter; Marcie Christensen, coordinator of Francisco's Farm Festival and founder of CompassRoseWorks; Wendy Outland, art consultant, juror and founder of Who Knows Art; and Breanna Rockstad-Kincaid, fiber artist.
Digital photography: Starting with the Fall 2009 Fair TACA will accept only digital photography for fair applications. Learn what you need to know about making the digital transition. John Peden will explain the mechanics and terminology of digital photography as it applies to recording your images and applying to craft fairs. Get aboard the digital revolution! John Peden teaches digital photography at Tennessee Technology Center in Murfreesboro.
Postmark deadline is February 6. If there are not 50 participants, workshop will be cancelled. You must provide phone and/or email.
